On the 8^th September in the Grand Palace hotel the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovakia in Latvia H.E. Mr. Dušan Krištofik held a reception on the occasion of the Constitution Day of the Republic Slovakia, which is celebrated in the country on the 1^st September.

In the beginning of the reception the Ambassador expressed the condolences regarding the tragic event happened in Yaroslavl city in Russia and affected many countries, because the hockey team „Lokomotiv“ consisted of many leading players from 11 countries including Slovakia and Latvia. A Minute of silence was announced in the remembrance of all the players.

Constitution’s Day is a National day in the country. On the 31st August 1992 the parliament of the Republic of Slovakia had been discussing the project of the main rule of the country, some corrections were made and on the 1st September there was an official voting on the final version of the Constitution.

H.E. Mr. Dušan Krištofik wished prosperity, good luck, health and welfare to the people of Slovakia and Latvia.

Appeal to world leaders and humanity

Diplomatic Economic Club strongly condemns and is not accepting any kind of aggression, military collisions, wars between countries, which are happening here close in the center of Europe, on the other continents of the world, in Asia, in Africa. Nothing can justify the use of force in any cases, everywhere it leads to suffering of civilians. We call all parts, leaders of all levels for a peaceful solution of any disagreements through the dialog and negotiations. Only the Peace on our planet, olny Friendship and mutual understanding promote the life of people. *Please don't even* allow yourself any thought about World War III, about nuclear weapons. All the humanity remembers the wars of the 20th century, and if somebody has forgotten, please remember. Stop War!
