120th anniversary of ŠKODA car manufacturer
In the official ŠKODA Representative office in Latvia, Karlo Motors, the Ambassador of Czech Republic in Latvia H.E. Mr Pavol Šepelák , members of the Diplomatic Club, and other guests took part in the exhibition opening event dedicated to 120th anniversary of ŠKODA car manufacturer.
At the meeting, guests had a chance to see ŠKODA cars offered on Latvian market.
In 1895, Václav Laurin and Václav Klement started producing bicycles with the patriotic name Slavia. In 1899 the company Laurin & Klement Co. started motorcycle production, and in 1905 started producing cars.
In 1925 the company merged with Pilsen &ŠKODA Co., therefore the trademark Laurin & Klement stopped existing.
Joint venture of companies Pilsen &SKODA and Volkswagen was created in 1991 and became the fourth brand of Volkswagen Group in line with VW, AUDI and SEAT.
