Barbaros T. Erdem returns back home
September 21, 2009, at the Riga airport Club’s president Pavol Baranay on his own name and Club’s behalf wished a nice trip and success to counselor of Turkey Embassy, vice-president of DEC, Mr. Barbaros Tuna Erdem , in connection with an appointment for a higher position at the Turkish Foreign Affairs Ministry.
In 2007 B.T. Erdem was elected to the Board of the Diplomatic Economic Club and together with P. Baranay actively participated in the events of the Club. С 2007 года B.T.Erdem избран в Правление Diplomatic Economic Club, thus contributing to development of international cooperation and strengthening friendly relations among Club members.
Public work has its specifics, Mr. Barbaros Tuna Erdem was ready to sacrifice private time and participated in conferences, meetings, presentations, gave talks on behalf of the Club at different events, which took part also on weekends.
In this way underlined and increased the status of the Club.
It is hard to overestimate his contributions to the development of internal relations and establishment of image of the Club.
The Board, Club President have sent a letter about their Club colleague to addresses of the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister, and Ambassador of Turkey in Latvia.
The letter is:
We have a great pleasure to inform you that Mr. Barbaros Tuna Erdem, Counsellor of the Turkish Embassy in Riga and Vice-President of the Diplomatic Economic Club (DEC), which unites the representatives of foreign diplomatic and trade missions, Latvian business and banking sectors, representing 18 countries of Europe and Asia, has an immeasurable contribution and participation in the activities of the Diplomatic Economic Club.
Mr. Erdem joined DEC in 2005 and since then he has been taking an active part both in activities and events held by the Club members.
Members of the Club in 2007 in a regular monthly meeting suggested Mr. Erdem as Vice-President of the Club. At the election held at the meeting, Mr. Erdem was unanimously elected to this high position. He has been participating in Club’s meetings with business people, governmental officials, as well as in presentations, he was speaker in various conferences, thus furthering economic and trade relations between countries. Barbaros T. Erdem is always taking an active position; he is a business-minded person with a high energy level who knows how to find the best solutions and to reach mutual understanding. We would like to convey to you, Excellency, our sincere appreciation that people like Mr Barbaros Tuna Erdem, who are capable to further the development of friendly international relations, economic and cultural ties between nations, represent your country. Owing to him, our countries have developed closer and mutually beneficial relations.
We do believe that his energy, experience, knowledge and potential will serve for the welfare of the Republic of Turkey.
