DEC Board meeting

November 13, 2009 the Club Board meeting was held at the Headquarters. Club President P. Baranay, V. Roldugin, S. Ratnikov and A. Butenko participated in the meeting.
During the meeting several questions related to current activities and coming events were discussed.

The plan of upcoming events was reviewed. The plan assumes organization of business meetings, in particular, with representatives of Economic and Transportation Ministries, Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Latvia and Lithuania etc.

meeting at the Dzintars factory, organization of a discussion club together with I. Gerchikov;
Club meeting: election of a new vice-president, admission of new members;
DEC billiard tournament;
December:
Meeting at the Club and New Year celebrations
January:
Traditional meeting at V. Tile
soup – kapustnica – from Slovakia – Club president invites;
As well included into the plan:
Introduction to the Latvian tourism industry at Balttour exhibition (February)
Visit to the bakery in Latvia;
Introduction to club „Pilot“;
visit to the Concors company;
Participation at the meeting with entrepreneurs during Intertextil exhibition;
Organization of summer fest for Club members and their families;
bowling tournament;
and other thematic meetings at the Club.

Appeal to world leaders and humanity

Diplomatic Economic Club strongly condemns and is not accepting any kind of aggression, military collisions, wars between countries, which are happening here close in the center of Europe, on the other continents of the world, in Asia, in Africa. Nothing can justify the use of force in any cases, everywhere it leads to suffering of civilians. We call all parts, leaders of all levels for a peaceful solution of any disagreements through the dialog and negotiations. Only the Peace on our planet, olny Friendship and mutual understanding promote the life of people. *Please don't even* allow yourself any thought about World War III, about nuclear weapons. All the humanity remembers the wars of the 20th century, and if somebody has forgotten, please remember. Stop War!
