The Institute of Organic Synthesis
On 22nd April, Club Members got acquainted with the projects and actions of The Institute of Organic Synthesis.
The Institute director, professor and Doctor of Science Ivars Kalvins presented the opportunities of the institute in the modern pharmaceutical field.
The Institute was founded in 1957 (2nd January) with the purpose to deal with the Organic chemistry, Molecular biology and Bio organic chemistry.
The Institute of Organic Synthesis takes part in different scientific research projects, cooperates with Latvian and foreign pharmaceutical companies
The institute realizes projects with 14 pharmaceutical companies all over the world and holds more than 250 patents during the last 5 years.
The Institute maintains the modern qualitative equipment for the research works. 125 Doctors of Science and 100 students implements the researches with the practical importance for the pharmaceutical industry. The professors are invited to teach the students from three Latvian universities.The Institute publishes the scientific magazine on the Organic chemistry issues.
The possibilities of the institute can stimulate the increase in the export potential of the Latvian economics.
The acting Club President Janos Rekasi gifted the Club Diploma, on behalf of the Club expressed his gratitude to Mr. Ivar Kalvins for the interesting conversation, excursion in laboratories and wishes the success in the future and more practical realize projects.
