Proclamation Day of the Republic of Italy
![]() On June 2, 2010 the reception of the Italian Embassy in Latvia was held on the occasion of the National Holiday Proclamation Day of the Italian Republic. |
![]() On June 2, 1946 the population of Italy (including women for the first time) participated in lections in order to vote for the Republic. It meant to reject the monarchy, to change the system to republic and to elect the Members of the Assembly that had to create a new Italian Constitution (approved in 1948). |
