Overview to credit statistics 2009 2010
According to figures published by the Bank of Latvia, the quantity of borrowers started at the 874 930 level in the first quarter of 2009. As it is seen from the graph the figures gained gradually and were equal to 920 743 in the second quarter of 2010, the growth was 5.2 %.
Among debtors the residents are 99.3%, furthermore, 95.1% are individuals.
In the second quarter of 2010 year, the quantity of insolvent clients reached 22.3% of the total amount of borrowers and that is 7.6 percent more than at the beginning of 2009. The figure dramatically increased by 59.8%.
In spite of the significant growth of the insolvents in 2010 in comparison with 2009, the total sum of debts declined substantially, 2009 – 17.71 billion lats, 2010 – 16.11 billion lats.
In addition, 83.3 percent of total debt sum are taken in EUR currency, 8.3 % are registered in USD currency and only 7.7 percent – in LVL currency. Although, as regards to the quantity of credits, 74.2 % or 1 181 127 agreements are formalized in Latvian Lats.
In brief, the average sum of the debt in 2009 was LVL 20 241.62, however, the improvement was noticed and was equal to LVL 17 496.74 in 2010, so that the trend decreased by LVL 2 744.88.
