Diplomatic Economic Club^{® Since 1997}

The Diplomatic Economic Club offers a non-remunerated practice possibilities for students who wish to improve their skills and gain experience working in an international community.

This possibility is open to all undergraduate and graduate students from Latvia. Candidates are selected in response to specific needs identified within DEC.


Areas of Activities:


— Public Relations

— Oral interpretation at various DEC events, presentations and conferences

— Written translations

— Writing reviews on DEC events

— Preparation of case studies/ review of economic sectors related to DEC memberstates

— Development of various forms of documents

— Conducting interviews and surveys

— International Relations

Updating and maintaining of the homepage sections:

— International and national news

— International and Latvian economics

— Cultural life

— Web Design





Work places and time:

— DEC events are carried out mostly in Riga DEC Club and at exhibition center Kipsala. In case of external event, e.g. visit to an enterprise, the venue is announced in advance. The business trips to Latvian regions take place 1-2 times a year

— All written work, update of homepage and translations are supposed to be done remotely

— The workload should not exceed 10% of a standard working week



Requirements:

— Language skills: high level of written and spoken Latvian, English, Russian (knowledge of French and German on a high level is considered as additional asset)

— Responsibility towards duties, self-organization and independence

— Communication skills, openness and high standards of ethics

— Respect of the Club values
