The opening of representative offices of Flanders Investment & Trade in Vilnius
On 10 of May, Minister-President of the Flemish Government Geert Bourgeois participated in the opening of the representative office of the Agency of Flanders Investment & Trade (Belgium FIT) in the Baltic States, with residence in Vilnius.
In the opening ceremony of the office was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevicius Mayor of Vilnius Remigijus Simasius, Director of FIT Mrs. Claire Tillekaerts.
In the speech the Minister President of the Flanders government said that the mission of the Agency for investment and trade Flanders in Vilnius will contribute to the further fruitful development of bilateral and multilateral business contacts between entrepreneurs of the countries. He noted with satisfaction that mutually beneficial cooperation continue to evolve, as evidenced by his visit on 8 of May in Riga free port and 10 of may at the seaport of Klaipeda.
The Minister noted that the head of the mission of FIT in the Baltic States Thomas Castrel hasthe status of a diplomat Counsellor, which is important in conditions when closed Belgian Embassy in the Baltic States.
Extensive experience of Thomas Castrel in the countries of East Central Europe, will contribute to the development of mutually beneficial partnerships between the entrepreneurs of Belgium, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
The presentation was also made by the Minister of foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevicius, the mayor of the city of Vilnius Remigijus Simasius, Director of FIT MS Claire Tellekaerts.
In the opening ceremony of the representative office of the Agency for investment and Trade Flanders in Vilnius was attended by the representatives of the business community and members of the Diplomatic Economic Club.
