Mr Hendrik (Henk) G.C. van den Dool
Henk van den Dool (Dordrecht, June 4th, 1961) studied History at the University of Amsterdam, where he graduated with honors («cum laude») in 1986. After having worked as a journalist, he entered the Diplomatic Service of the Netherlands in 1987. He held various positions, both within the Ministry in The Hague and in bilateral and multilateral representations abroad: Brussels (EU), Geneva (UN) and Warsaw.
From 1998 to 2002 Henk van den Dool served as Private Secretary to the Minister for Development Co-operation, H.E. Ms Eveline Herfkens. In 2008 he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Albania in Tirana. He held this position until he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Latvia in Riga in September 2012.
The main areas of expertise and interest of Ambassador Van den Dool are European Integration, Human Rights and Development Co-operation.
Ambassador Van den Dool has two sons, Jip Sebastiaan and Casper Jarek. His partner is Katarzyna (Kasia) Anna Pawelska.
