Czech Embassy reception
On October 28 in Riga Small Guild Hall the Czech Embassy reception was held on the occasion of the Independent Czechoslovak State Day.
The Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Mr. Tomáš Pštross greeted and congratulated the guests, wished a success and prosperity.
On October 28, 1918 the first independent Czechoslovak state was founded from territories that were previously part of the Austro-hungarian Empire.
There is a large-scale industry in the Czech Republic steel-smelting and machine-building plants; paper, glass, car production etc. The means of Czech production are successfully used in Latvia.
In 1992 the leaders of Czech and Slovak made the arrangement about the Czechoslovak dissolving. On 1 January 1993 it formally separated into two completely independent countries: the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. But October 28 – Day of the Czechoslovak Republic establishment is one of the most important days in the history of the Czech Republic.
