**Ambassador of Austria in Latvia Stefan Pehringer**

On October 24th, 2013 at the Alberta Hotel in Riga was held reception at the Austrian Embassy on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Austria

The Austrian Ambassador to Latvia, Stefan Pehringer congratulated guests on the National Day of Austria and wished further development and extend the possibilities on the cultural and economic relations between our countries.

October 26 has been the date of Austria’s National Day. Every year on October 26 Austrians celebrate their country’s declaration of permanent neutrality after World War II and its regained status as an independent and sovereign nation on October 26, 1955.

On 27 July 1955 the Austrian State Treaty (State Treaty for the re-establishment of an independent and democratic Austria, signed on 15 May 1955) entered into force, after it had been ratified by all five states — Austria, the USA, the Soviet Union, Great Britain and France.

Appeal to world leaders and humanity

Diplomatic Economic Club strongly condemns and is not accepting any kind of aggression, military collisions, wars between countries, which are happening here close in the center of Europe, on the other continents of the world, in Asia, in Africa. Nothing can justify the use of force in any cases, everywhere it leads to suffering of civilians. We call all parts, leaders of all levels for a peaceful solution of any disagreements through the dialog and negotiations. Only the Peace on our planet, olny Friendship and mutual understanding promote the life of people. *Please don't even* allow yourself any thought about World War III, about nuclear weapons. All the humanity remembers the wars of the 20th century, and if somebody has forgotten, please remember. Stop War!
