On the 2nd of February concert of popular Irish band Clannad was held in Riga. The style of Clannad music is a synthesis of Celtic folk, rock and jazz. They are performing on Gaelic and English languages.

Clannad is very much a family saga, as its members are all blood relatives such as two brothers, sister and uncle. All of them are from County Donegal, Ireland.

The first big success of the musicians came in 1970, the band wrote the soundtrack for the TV series "Robin of Sherwood», which was also performed on stage in Riga Congress Hall.

The audience were very grateful and thanked musicians with standing ovations
