Reception of the Embassy of Italy in Latvia to celebrate the national holiday, the Day of proclamation of the Republic of Italy took place on 2 June in Riga.
The ambassador of Italy in Latvia H.E. Giovanni Polizzi congratulated the guests.
On 2nd June Italians celebrate the day of the Republic. This is meant to be the birthday of the new governance system in the country.

The proclamation of independence of the Republic of Italy on 2nd June 1646, meant for the Italian population farewell to monarchy, proclamation of the Republic, and the new Constitution of Italy (in force since 1948).
The holiday is an official a state holiday from 20th November 2000.
The ambassador wished prosperity to the nations of Italy and Latvia.
