Reception of the Embassy of Georgia in Latvia

25th May 2016 at the House of culture Ziemelblazma, Riga, the Ambassador of Georgia in Latvia Teimuraz Janjalia held a solemn reception on the occasion of the Independence Day of Georgia, which is celebrated in the country on 26 of May
On 26 of May 1918 the government of Georgia declared independence of the country and this date is celebrated as the Independence Day of Georgia.
At the end of 1991 March a referendum was held about the restoration of the state Independence of Georgia and 9 April 1991 the Supreme Soviet of the USSR adopted the Act of restoration of state Independence of Georgia

Performed by the male vocal ensemble «Georgian Voices» and the Symphony orchestra of Latvia played the national anthems of the two countries.

The Ambassador of Georgia Teimuraz Janjalia spoke to the guests in Latvian, and congratulated them on the holiday and wished well-being and prosperity of the peoples of Georgia and Latvia.
