    Reception for the Estonian Independence Day

    Each year on February 24th, Estonia celebrates the most important public holiday: the Independence Day of Estonia (Eesti Vabariigi aastapä ev). This date commemorates the day when the Estonian Declaration of Independence was adopted in Tallinn in 1918.

    Celebrating the 99th anniversary of Estonian Independence, the ambassador of Estonia in Latvia Tõnis Nirk organized a reception on February 9th.  

    The President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaida, the Speaker of Saiema, deputies, public officials, diplomats, entrepreneurs, representatives of the Estonian community in Latvia attended the reception.

    In their welcoming speeches, the President of Estonia and the Speaker of Saiema highlighted the common grounds and ways that these two countries have in a mutually beneficial cooperation as well as in the development and strengthen of the European Union.


    Reception for the Estonian Independence Day

    The Ambassador of Estonia Tõnis Nirk proposed a toast for the forthcoming Independence Day of Estonia and wished the people of both countries happiness and success.

    Diplomatic Economic Club strongly condemns and is not accepting any kind of aggression, military collisions, wars between countries, which are happening here close in the center of Europe, on the other continents of the world, in Asia, in Africa.
    Nothing can justify the use of force in any cases, everywhere it leads to suffering of civilians.
    We call all parts, leaders of all levels for a peaceful solution of any disagreements through the dialog and negotiations.
    Only the Peace on our planet, olny Friendship and mutual understanding promote the life of people.
    Please don't even allow yourself any thought about World War III, about nuclear weapons.
    All the humanity remembers the wars of the 20th century, and if somebody has forgotten, please remember. Diplomatic Club for Peace

    1997 — the beginning of the formation of the idea of creating a club, the establishment of internal interactions in the club on the basis of international exhibitions in Riga, periodic meetings.
