Maslenitsa in Jurmala
Tradition of saying goodbye to the winter and welcoming the spring Maslenitsa – in 2019 was celebrated on March 10 in Amber Coast sanatorium in Jurmala. Club Members with their families took part in the celebration
According to the tradition, in the end of celebration, the scarecrow representing the winter gets burned and it takes away all the illnesses and miseries, letting the spring come into our lives.
Maslenitsa is a farewell to winter. It is celebrated in many countries. In the day of celebration, joyfulness brings well-being, prosperity and success.
In Latvia this celebration is called Meteni.
