Fraternal Union over a Millennium Journey
In Riga, on April 20, at the Marriott Hotel, a reception was held by the Embassy of Israel in Latvia on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Independence of the State of Israel.
In 2023, the holiday is celebrated on April 25.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of the State of Israel to Latvia Ms. Sharon Rappaport-Palgi addressed the guests in Latvian, thanked and congratulated everyone on the important holiday of Independence Day in the life of all Israelis.
The National anthems of the countries were performed by a musical trio. During the reception, the guests thanked the musicians with applause for their performance skills.

Independence Day of the State of Israel is celebrated on 5 Iyar (or a date close to this date if 5 Iyar falls on a Saturday or Friday). On this day, Iyar 5, 5708 (May 14, 1948), at the end of the British mandate in the Land of Israel, David Ben-Gurion announced the establishment of the State of Israel.
