Turkish Embassy Reception in Latvia
On 2 November the Embassy of Turkey in Latvia arranged the reception to celebrate Republic Day in Turkey (29 October).The reception was held in Small Guild.
Mr. Duray Polat, Turkish Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary in Latvia, congratulated all those present with the event and wished success and prosperity.
On October 29, 1923, the Turkish constitution was amended and Turkey became a republic (Cumhuriyet Turkey). This formally declared the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire.
