During the Board meeting on January 22, 2010, the questions regarding current activities of the Club, plan of events and amendments to the Chart of the Club were discussed.
In the first half of 2010 the Board offers to following meeting schedule proposal:
organizational meeting of the Club; visit to the international tourist exhibition BALTTOUR 2010.
Presentations and meetings:
SMP bank — «Development of the banking sector in current conditions»,
presentation of hotel «Light House»
meeting with the representative of NORD STREAM,
learn about export potential of Latvia on example of Institute of Organic Chemistry
April 9 – business contacts with entrepreneurs during Matching Event at the exhibition INTERTEXTIL 2010
Meetings with major of Riga, Mr. N. Usakov, head of Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, Mr. A. Ozols are planned. Also, business trips to one of Latvian cities, trip to Tallinn with the goal to meet the development agency there are under discussion.
Plan includes as well a meeting with representatives of Latvian Bank, visit to Riga International Airport Riga and company Concors
Our Club has established a prize for the participants of the international fashion competition Habitus 2010, which will be organized on April 10 at the international exhibition center in Riga.
Traditional events of the Club:
„Plant the lilac“ at the friendships avenue,
participation in the football tournament organized by Riga Business Club
and other meetings.

Appeal to world leaders and humanity

Diplomatic Economic Club strongly condemns and is not accepting any kind of aggression, military collisions, wars between countries, which are happening here close in the center of Europe, on the other continents of the world, in Asia, in Africa. Nothing can justify the use of force in any cases, everywhere it leads to suffering of civilians. We call all parts, leaders of all levels for a peaceful solution of any disagreements through the dialog and negotiations. Only the Peace on our planet, olny Friendship and mutual understanding promote the life of people. *Please don't even* allow yourself any thought about World War III, about nuclear weapons. All the humanity remembers the wars of the 20th century, and if somebody has forgotten, please remember. Stop War!
