Diplomatic Economic Club^{® Since 1997}

The Club members participated in the opening ceremony of the international exhibition «Environment and Energy 2011» on October 20, meeting the new ambassador of Belgium at the AWEX stand. Mr Frank Arnauts gave an overview of Belgian companies represented at the exhibition.

On the 29th of September the Annual Meeting of the Club was held. Traditionally, once in a year the general meeting of Club members take a place to determine the orientation of the Club’s life and work.

To mark the occasion of the departure to the motherland of Consul of the Embassy of Hungary Mr. István Mányi there was held a meeting of diplomats in the residence of the Ambassador of Hungary.

János Rékasi, Counsellor of the Embassy of Hungary for the economic affairs and DEC President, ends his mission to Latvia and Estonia on September 30.

On the 8^th September Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Latvia held a reception on the occasion of the Constitution Day of the Republic Slovakia, which is celebrated on the 1^st September

On 7th September Members of the Diplomatic Club attended the Exhibition Riga Food 2011, where they were familiarized with the offered expositions of the food industry.

On the 24th of August the reception of the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia was held on the occasion of Ukraine’s 20th Independence Day

Condolences to the people of Norway

We express our sincere condolences to the families of died and injured in the tragic incident in Oslo city and the Utoeya Island, which happened on the 22 July. We express our deep grief and share the pain of loss.
Together with all progressive people, who are not indifferent to these news, we support the people of Norway.

The reception was held on the occasion of the French National Day- 14th of July or the Day of storming the Bastille.

With the initiative of Riga Business Club, and participation of the Embassy of Russia in Latvia, on the 11th July there was held a ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Russian soldiers died in Lucavsala in 1701.

On the 9th of July in the rest complex „Kolotilovka“ the Ukrainians of Latvia held the celebration of the Ivan Kupala Day on which the concert and traditional Slavonic festive ceremonies of the summer solstice day took a place.
